We are thrilled to announce that researchers from the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser (IESL-FORTH), in collaboration with the University of Manchester and Aix Marseille University, have developed a groundbreaking method to create highly ordered periodic structures on thin gold films using double-pulse femtosecond lasers.
๐ Using pulses just 170 femtoseconds long, this single-step laser technique enables large-area fabrication of plasmonic arraysโperfect for biosensing and other advanced photonic applicationsโwithout relying on expensive, time-consuming methods such as conventional electron beam lithography.
๐ฅ The study is a result of international collaboration between Institute of Electronic Structure & Laser (IESL) – Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas, The University of Manchester, and @Aix Marseille University.
