We are thrilled to announce that researchers from the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser (IESL-FORTH), in collaboration with the University of Manchester and Aix Marseille University, have developed a groundbreaking method to create highly ordered periodic structures on thin gold films using double-pulse femtosecond lasers.

๐Ÿ“Œ Using pulses just 170 femtoseconds long, this single-step laser technique enables large-area fabrication of plasmonic arraysโ€”perfect for biosensing and other advanced photonic applicationsโ€”without relying on expensive, time-consuming methods such as conventional electron beam lithography.
